Beanies beanies and more beanies

Yay! I've finally got the hang of crocheting beanies! I've been working toward this goal for a long time and I'm glad that I've finally got it down, even though it seems that I make each one a little different. But that aspect is what makes handmade things wonderful, right?

School is back in session and resolutions are in full swing. It seems that all of my resolutions never happen and fizzle out after a few weeks of doing them, so I thought I might just start a "resolution" of setting small goals at the begging of each month. Small goals seem to help me because I don't get overwhelmed before I even begin. One of my goals for this month is to become a better seamstress, and I'm so excited to be apart of Rachel Denbow's Modern Patchwork. When I read about it on her blog, I knew this was a perfect thing for my seamstress goal. So, I'll be giving little updates about my progress throughout the month! I'm really excited to share these goals with all of you (it helps me to be accountable for them) and hopefully they'll inspire you to make little goals of your own :)

P.S. Please take notice to my beautiful new winter time header that the wonderfully talented Kacey Holifield did! Yes, she has made all of my headers thus far and I plan to always use her creative mind. She's the best!

Truly, Truly

I tried my hand at band photography Sunday for my friends from Truly, Truly. Despite the freezing cold weather, I had so much fun with these guys! I just thought I would give you a peek and some bloopers from the day.

Hello Break!

This has been my view for far to long! I'm so glad to be done! My first semester of college is over and boy did it fly by. So now my Christmas break officially begins. Have I ever mentioned how much I love this time of year?

I have so much crocheting to catch up on! I'm very thankful for all of the orders that I've received for the Christmas holidays, but because of finals I've sort of fallen behind but I'm setting a goal to get them all done by Sunday! I'm so excited to hopefully have some time to work on new ideas I have and also start stocking up on my goods to start trying to establish anchor&sparrow's etsy page! Eee! I'm in heaven right now.

Pomplamoose is my obsession right now. It's perfect crocheting and creating music. If you have never given them a listen, you definitely should! I hope they warm your heart like they do mine!

Happy Thursday!

Christmas Fanatics

Christmas is upon us!
All of our decoration is up and the spirit is hitting me hard. We're kind of Christmas fanatics at my house. We have three trees (mine and Spencer's + the family tree) and lights everywhere. It's definitely a magical time of the year!
I'm so sorry I have been neglecting my little blog. Now that my first semester of college is practically over (which flew by!) I'll have more time! Yay!

Off to study!

New Goodies

Finally! Some winter goodies! After a couple of days of working on it, I'm finally done with my latest project for anchor&sparrow.....crocheted earmuffs + crocheted flower embellishments! I'm so pleased with the way it turned out and I hope that they find their way home with some special people!

It's been a little hard to start on new things lately because I'm so wrapped up with crocheted flower headband orders (which is an amazing problem to have! I'm so blessed!) and of course school.. But my next big thing that I'm working toward is a little more ambitious and time consuming than the earmuffs, but hopefully the outcome will be equally cute!

I really can't stress enough how thankful I am for everyone that has bought from anchor&sparrow, this is truly an amazing experienced and I'm so humbled by it. I guess having Thanksgiving in a few days is reminding me to be thankful for the things that we start to take for granted.

I hope that you all enjoy the earmuffs!

I can't believe..

It's hard for me to accept that Christmas is right around the corner!
This year has flown by with a blink of an eye. I've been seeing Christmas supplies in stores, even though it's not even Thanksgiving, but I guess when it really hit me that Christmas is so close is that me and Mr. Raybourn are starting to exchange our wish-list's.

I'm starting to make a little list for everyone that I want to get a present for this year. My goal is to hand-make at least one thing for every person on my list. I know this might sound a little eager, but I'm up for the challenge. I've learned that pushing myself is the only way I can grow.

I surprised Braxton with an old comic book from 1971 that was in amazing condition and he flipped out when I gave it to him. He loves it so much! Maybe I need to find a way to incorporate his new found love for old comics into his present! Hmm.. I'm so glad that we both share a love for vintage things.

This is completely off topic from Christmas, but how adorable is this proposal?? Lucy, Desi, & November are their pups, so it's like they're asking! So cute! I'm so excited for my friend Alex Ellis and Carlos! They have a special spot in my heart because I have watched their relationship grow and we got our precious Louigi from them! I haven't shared pictures with you of our spoiled rotten puppy, so here are a few photos that I've taken with my phone when he comes to visit. He's went from a little black speck to our big bear!

He's rotten!

Friday Projects

A new friend of mine is having a birthday this Saturday. I always love birthday's even when it's not mine. I think that the day of someones birth is definitely something worth celebrating! Melanie Shoemake is the gal that I'm making something completely special and totally customized to her for her big day. She is completely obsessed with Harry Potter and with the new film right around the corner (eep!) how could I pass up this opportunity?

So here is a little peek of the theme of what will be going on! I don't want to give too much away because I want Mel to be surprised! So my Friday project with Josie will be all about Harry Potter and I couldn't be more excited!

Happy Weekend!
