China
My brother, Spencer, is in China! He left Thursday morning with the some other honor students from Jones and we just heard from him at 9 o'clock this morning (10 o'clock at night for him!) I thought that I would share the pictures that he sends me with you because it's just so neat!
We had a mini Skype session this morning with him, and man is technology amazing or what?? He told us about this 13 hour plane ride from Seattle, Washington to China and how long and boring that was. He says the traffic is crazy, the people are tiny, some of the bathrooms are basically little holes in the ground (most places have Western style toilets), and how it's actually pretty hot over there.
I'm not sure how many more pictures I'll be getting because a WiFi connection is rare because they're constantly on the go. Tomorrow they will go to the Great Wall and I really hope he sends pictures!
How exciting!

Summer has begun!
The beginning of this week brought the beginning of summer break! I couldn't be more excited. My little flowers have a big debut coming up in a few weeks and I can't wait to share more about it once the time gets closer! Speaking of my crocheted flowers, Day in the Park was Saturday and it went so well for Anchor & Sparrow! I can't express how thankful I am of each and every one of you who have supported us! We definitely couldn't do this without you!
I was so happy to see my long-lost friend, Beth, at Day in the Park! She use to be one of my best friends and then she moved so we sort of lost touch but seeing her Saturday it felt as if we just picked up where we left off! Friendship is such a beautiful thing.
Oh, and remember me mentioning me doing something super fun with Dawn of Hello Dearie? Well, I joined her sewing class! I love it so much. I look forward to it each and every week. My apron was the first thing I made and I'm in love. I wore it around all day long when I completed it! Sewing is such a satisfying experience and I'm so glad I've found the perfect teacher :)
It's graduation season and today was my college's graduation day. Congratulations to all the graduates out there! I can't believe it's been a year since I graduated from high school. My how time flies.
I hope you all have a great rest of the week! xo

Comedian Corbin McDavitt
A few days ago, my good friend Corbin McDavitt asked me to take some head-shots of him for his application to the Boston Comedy Festival. These are my favorite but you can check out all of them on his facebook page. He also has a video up of his latest performance so go stop by, like his page, and give him some love! He's amazing! *remember me when you're famous, Corbin!*
In other news, finals week is in full swing and so is getting ready for Day in the Park! I will be trying to do more post once all the craziness of my life ceases, but it seems like I'm constantly saying that!
I couldn't be any happier with the way things are going for Anchor & Sparrow and I really hope to see you all at Day in the Park THIS Saturday!
Happy Finals Week!

Spring Art Walk
Saturday was the Spring Art Walk in downtown Hattiesburg. Unfortunately, Gabby and I were not able to sell anything due to the fact that we do not have a tax id for Anchor & Sparrow, but I still think we had a successful day! We handed out a ton of business cards and a lot of people seemed interested in our products! So of course that is encouraging. We accomplished what we set out for which is getting our name out there. We told everyone we could about Day in the Park in May and urged everyone to look us up on facebook. All-in-all, good day!
Also, look what came in the mail today!
A few weeks ago I entered one of Seablanket's Spring Fling Blog Party Giveaways to win photos and book-frame from Parker H. Fitzgerald and I WON! I was so happy because I've never won any giveaway from a blog before! I did a little jig when I received the news. Anyways, I lovelovelove it! I even got a sweet little thank you note from Chelsea.
I hope you all are having a great Monday!
I'll be dog-sitting Louigi all week long. Wish me luck!

Exciting Things!

Another excited thing is that Anchor & Sparrow will be at the Spring Art Walk in downtown Hattiesburg this Saturday! Gabby and I will not be able to sell anything at the art walk due to not having a tax id but we will be passing out business cards and will a few items to look at. So I hope to see a lot of you there and supporting other local artist! It will be a ton of fun.
Anchor & Sparrow will be at Day in the Park in Laurel (May 7th) this year and we will be selling things there :)
I really cannot express how happy my heart is right now! So many positive things are going on that it's hard not to smile. I also have some fun news that have to do with the lovely Dawn Trest of Hello Dearie! I'm SEW excited! ;)
I hope that all of you are doing great and loving life.
(I've been listing to Gabby's Summer Playlist while writing this post and it's just put me in such a great mood that I had to share!)

New Month, New Goodies
I thought I would give you a peek at some new things that are going to be offered for the upcoming months at anchor & sparrow!

I've added the crochet flowers + felt leaves to the beanies! Anna Love is the beautiful girl in the pictures above and the first to receive one of these beanies. One day in January we were talking and I was telling her my idea about putting the felt leaves with the flowers and adding them to my beanies. She thought it was a great idea and told me to try it out, and she would purchase it! After trying it, falling in love with it, I showed her the outcome and she was ecstatic! Yay!
And here is a peek at the adorable new headbands that Gabby is offering for the summer! The entire headband is crocheted (even the band!) these cute little flowers and crocheted leaves are just darling!
We are so excited about coming up things for Anchor & Sparrow! We're trying to come up with new things and we can't wait to share them with you. For all of you that have supported us, I can not say thank you enough!
Happy Sunday!
