New Lens

I bought a new lens and I absolutely love it! It's a 55mm lens and the niftiest thing! I took it to downtown Hattiesburg to try it out when Braxton and I were waiting on our movie and I thought I would share some of them with you!

Spring Headbands

*Sunflower

I've had this idea for a "spring line" of headbands since December and I'm so glad that spring is near and I can release them now! They consist of fake flowers and 3 shades of leather. I think they are perfect for adding a little spring flair to your favorite outfit. I hope that you all like them!

*Large Yellow Flower

This last picture was taken by BlackBird Photography! I'll share all of the pictures in a different post because, as always, Ryan and Jess did such an amazing job on them!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Homemade Chef

Pork Chops & Grits

What You'll Need:
Pork Chops (whatever kind you fancy)
Flour
Tony's Seasoning
3 Stalks of Celery
1 Onion
1/2 Green Bell Pepper
1 Can of Diced Tomatoes
2 Can of Chicken Broth
1 Cup of Milk
1/2 Cup of Grits (not the instant kind)

The first thing you'll need to do is mix some flour and Tony's Seasoning in a pan (I really didn't measure it out, just eyeball the flour and a few dashes of Tony's). You'll take your pork chops and lightly dust them with your flower and Tony's mixture and just set them on a plate.

Next, cover your skillet in olive oil and cook your pork chops. Depending on what kind of cut you got your time on each side will vary. I bought really thin "tenders" so I cooked them about 2 minutes on each side flipping them roughly 4 times. (cook 2 minutes flip, 2 more minutes flip, 2 more minutes...etc) If you are unsure if they are done or not take a knife and cut into them and check! (the thicker the cut of your chop the longer they'll have to cook on each side)

After your pork chops are done, you'll want to chop up your 3 stalks of celery, onion, and 1/2 a green bell pepper and sautee them in olive oil in a pan until they are tender. This will only take a few minutes! After they are tender pour a whole can of chicken broth and your drained can of diced tomatoes. (you might notice that I used two different pans this is because the one in the first picture ended up being too small so I would suggest using the same pan you fried your pork chops in!) Set on a lower heat, cover, and cook for twenty minutes stirring occasionally. This medley of goodness will become a topper for your pork chops!

Now it's time for the grits! Put 1 can of chicken broth and 1 cup of milk into a pot and bring it to a boil. Once it is boiling, add 1/2 cup of grits, reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for about 15-20 minutes stirring occasionally.

Layer your meal! In this order put your grits,a pork chop, then your veggie medley in a stack for best results! I bought some frozen vegetables "steamers" (took the easy way out for the side dish) that you put in the microwave! But of course you can choose whatever side you'd like!

This is a delicious meal that is sure to impress! I hope that you try and enjoy! And if you have any questions, just let me know!

Spring Wishlist

I have had an overwhelming readiness for spring lately! I thought I would share a few items that are on my Spring Wishlist!

Dresses

Everyday Celebration Dress: Bright, dappled floral dresses are absolutely perfect for Spring.

Basil, Cilantro, Mint Dress: How precious and perfect?!

Love Inspired Dress: "Its romantic, pale pink-and-cream color combination remind you of beloved antique valentines and shared chocolate-strawberry shakes, while the waist tie, round neck, and sleeveless shape fill you with confidence in your fabulous figure." couldn't have said it better.

Embroidered Dress: Pair this with knee high socks. Magical.

Keepsake Letters Dress: Light, airy, beautiful.

Tops

Bow for a Walk Onesie: I want a Onesie so bad to pair with high-waisted shorts or skirts.

Favorite Colors Cardigan: Oh how I want this oversized cardigan!

Pattern Pending Cardigan: Spring on a cardigan. Love.

Triangle Love Tee: 1980's inspired prints always find a spot in my heart!

Winter has always been a favorite time of year for me, but I'm definitely ready for the breath of fresh air that Spring brings. I love taking activities outside such as reading, crocheting, picnicking, and it even makes studying not so miserable. And having an adorable outfit makes all of those activities even more enjoyable! If only I had kajillizons of money to buy all of the things on my list. Sigh. Guess that's why it's called a wishlist.

Funny Girl

I was recently introduced to the lovely Barbra Streisand. When I watched the 1968 hit, "Funny Girl", I immediately became a Barbra fan. She is witty and elegant in all the right ways.

I know here in south Mississippi the icky weather has gotten us all stuck inside, so this is a perfect movie to curl up on the couch with a hot cup of coffee and watch. (It even has an intermission!) I'm on to my next Streisand movie, "The Way We Were".

Happy movie days!
