China Goodies

pompom

I wanted to show you all what Spencer brought me back from China! First we have my little Pomegranate. Isn't it the cutest?! Spencer says that they are all over the place in China and it's sort of their "mascot" or something like that. I love it so much! Its cute little face just brightens my day.

And next we have a jade owl. For those of you who know me well (obviously Spencer is one of those people) knows that owls are one of my favorite animals! So of course this present made me very happy!

Oreo Crumble Pie

Spencer is coming home from China! I can't believe it's been 12 days since I've seen my brother. I'm so used to seeing him pretty much every hour of my life that 12 days seems like an eternity. Since he'll be back late tonight, I decided that I would make him something that is one of his favorite things that I make and it's super American. Oreo Crumble Pie! This recipe is super easy and very delicious! If you're watching your figure, stop reading now because this little pie is loaded with everything bad for you! But if you're wanting to make something special for someone with little effort, this is the recipe for you!

o

What you need:
1 pack of Oreos
1 stick of butter
2 box pudding mixes (chocolate or vanilla)
4 cups of milk
1 box of creme cheese
1 container of cool whip

or

First take two and a half rows of Oreos (you'll need the other half later on) and smash them. You can crumble them with your hands, in a food processor, or (like me) put them in a gallon zip lock bag and smash them with a ladle.

ore

Next you'll want to melt the stick of butter in the microwave. Pour your crumbled Oreos and melted butter in a 9x13 pan. Mix together. This will be your crust for your pie. Next, stick your pan of yumminess in the freezer for 10 minutes.

oreo

While your crust is in the freezer, start making your two boxes of pudding. I used Jell-O Chocolate, but you can use vanilla if you prefer that. Go by the directions that are on the box (2 cups of milk per mixture and I would advise making each box seperately).

oreoc

Once your 10 minutes are up, take your crust out of the freezer and pour your freshly made pudding over the crust. Spread it around and stick in the freezer for 10 more minutes.

While your pudding + crust are setting in the freezer, you can start making your topping! Take your thawed container of cool whip and your one box of room temperature creme cheese and mix them together in a bowl.

After the ten minutes are up for the second time, spread your topping mixture over the pudding layer! But wait! There's one more step!

Crumble up your last half row of Oreos and sprinkle them on top (stick in the freezer for about an hour or until ready to serve)! It will give people a peek at what they're about it dive into. I really hope you try this one! It's soooo good and, as you can see, super easy! Lastly, I'm going to leave you a few more pictures that Spencer sent me from China.

Breakfast at Tiffany's

Last night Click Boutique & Gallery threw a little Breakfast at Tiffany's party at the Saenger Theather in downtown Hattiesburg. Ryan, Jessica, Lauren, and myself got all dolled up and headed to see the movie. We got there thirty minutes early so we took advantage of that time to do a mini photo session.

Lauren wore the most perfect Audrey Hepburn attire! I couldn't stop taking pictures of her! I was even able to get some pictures of Ryan, even though he normally insist on being the one on the other side of the camera.

We had an absolute blast! I heard through the grapevine that Click might do something like this once a month! If they do, you really must all join. It is a great night out!

China: Take Two

Photo8

I received a few more pictures from Spencer yesterday morning. I wish he added descriptions of what he was taking pictures of! I'm sorry I can't do much explaining as to what everything is, I need to become more "China savvy".

Annddd that's all I've got for now! I'm super sad he didn't send a picture of The Great Wall. He better have taken one!

In other news, if you live in the Hattiesburg area tomorrow Click Boutique is hosting a Breakfast at Tiffany's party by showing the movie at the Saenger Theater in downtown Hattiesburg for free! So, put on your best Audrey Hepburn dress and come! It starts at 7 and I would love to see you all there!

Southern Weather

outfit

I've finally decided to try it..an outfit post! The weather here in the south has been exceptionally magical for those of us that love cooler weather (me!). I love being able to layer and the heat and humidity normally keep me from being able to do that this time of year.

outfit2

The last few days the temperature has been around 75 degrees and just amazing! So, I've been taking advantage of it by wearing sun dresses, cardigans, and tights. My favorites! The reason I love layering is because I can create tons of different outfits without spending a ton of money! I wish the 95+ temperatures weren't lurking around the corner and I could use this "layering technique" all year-round!

It always makes me happy when something cool goes on in my small town. Last night my friends Curtis Holland and Justin Coulter performed at The Loft. The performance was nothing short of amazing! Curtis is an amazing singer and Justin is a super talented guitar player and singer.
