Homemade Chef

Fiesta Chicken and Rice Bake

What you'll need:
  • 1 can Campbell's Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1 cup Pace Chunky Salsa
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 1 cup Fiesta Corn
  • 3/4 cup of rice
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast (or tenders)
  • 1 can of black beans

The first thing you'll need to do is mix soup, salsa, water, corn, black beans, and rice in a baking dish.

Then just put your chicken on top of that mixture, salt and pepper, and cover.

Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes (or until done)!
I sprinkled mine with Cheddar cheese once it came out of the oven and it turned out delicious!

As you can see, this is a very simple recipe but it is SO good! I highly recommend it. Let me know if you try it!

Happy cooking

New Header

I'm in love with the new header that Kacey made me! She used a picture that BlackBird Photography took of me and let her imagination run. Kacey and I have a special little something planned that involves the picture above (stolen from her)! I'm so excited about it! Kudos Kacey for making another wonder header! Thank you!
P.S. the lyrics on the side that she put on there are amazing. They're lyrics to the Cranberries song Dreams. It says
"Oh, my life is changing everyday in every possible way. And oh, my dreams, it's never quite as it seems, never quite as it seems."

"The Notebook"

This is probably one of the most breathtaking engagement shoots (any shoot for that matter) that I have seen. Blushing Bride Studio did an absolutely amazing job on this. You'll just have to see for yourself..

"We chose the movie The Notebook as inspiration for our engagement photo shoot for a few reasons. For one, Jean-Nicola’s late grandparents had Alzheimer’s disease and this movie touched close to home. Also, the chemistry of the young lovers in the movie was intense! And the era is very alluring to us- the fashion and way of life. We hope that our love endures all that life will throw at us, much like Noah and Allie. Oh, and we always fall asleep hand in hand (reference to the end of the movie)…" -via green wedding shoes

How sweet is that?!
I had to share.

BlackBird Photography

Even though me and Braxton decided to go our separate ways with no hard feelings since this photoshoot, I still wanted to share the beautiful pictures that Ryan and Jessica of BlackBird Photography took. This couple takes amazing photos and are also some of the sweetest people around. I hope that you fall in love with them just like I have!

Check out their facebook page for more shoots that they have done. I know they would love to hear from you! Tell them I sent you ;)

Fashion Inspirations

I know that I'm not alone when I say this, but fashion definitely plays a big role in what inspires me. My friend Josie definitely contributes to my love for fashion. For as long as I can remember, Josie has been infatuated with fashion. Yes, I always liked to go shopping and buy clothes, but until I was in about the 8th grade did I really understand fashion. Josie would always push my boundaries as to what I was comfortable with wearing until things "I thought I could never pull off" became my normal. She opened my eyes to a world that I now love and I'm greatly appreciative of that.
So here are a few items that are inspiring me.

I love the concept of mixing patterns. I've never been one where things in my wardrobe have to match, they just have to "go". The idea of mixing patterns takes that a step further in the right direction..

These color combinations are perfect for spring and summer, along with just plum cute! Ankle cowboy boots are something that I'm completely gaga over.

Guys, I'm trying not to leave you out on this. Combat boots and skinny jeans. Nice combo if you ask me. (this is cute for girls too!)

I was always told growing up not to mix browns and blacks in an outfit, but I love to do it. Also, tights and shorts are supppperrr cute.

The "band/grunge" look has always been one of my favorite looks for guys.

How romantic and sweet is this outfit?! The lace top and full-length bottom is to die for. Light and airy things always find a special place in my heart.

I know that the cold days are almost gone forever, but I loved this outfit too much to not put it on here! This comfortable, effortlessly cool outfit is amazing. (see combat boots look good on girls!)

Casual, tailored jackets need to be every guys best friend. They look so good!

I hope you've found a few items of fashion that will in return inspire you! My advice to any person is to not be afraid to wear the things you want because it might be different than what every one else is wearing. That's ok! Be the next trend setter, let things "you never thought you could pull off" become your new normal. :)

Homemade Chef

Baked Chicken with a Twist
This is a super simple meal that only takes around an hour to make! Its simple ingredients make it a breeze to put together, but it taste like you've slaved all day over it. This is a fantastic meal for any cook that is starting off, and experienced chefs, you will like this as well! Promise!

What You'll Need:
  • 1 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 can of Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 1/2 stick of butter, melted
  • 4 tbsp. of soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp. of lemon juice
  • 4-5 chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
  • pepper to taste

The first thing that you'll want to do is mix your can of cream of mushroom, cream of chicken, 1/2 stick of melted butter, 4 tbsp. of soy sauce, and 2 tbsp. of lemon juice (I only used one lemon, but you might want to buy 2 just in case) in a bowl.

(As you can see I chose tenders instead of four whole breast)
Second Step: Pepper your chicken and pour your mixture on top. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for one hour. Serve with your choice of pasta or rice (I chose angel hair pasta for mine and it was delicious!) That's it! Easy-peasy, right?

Here is an easy was to do your side dish!
I bought a frozen Mediterranean blend of vegetables and let them thaw. Drizzle olive oil and liberally salt and pepper your choice of veggies. Toss with your hands and place in the oven at 350 for about 15 minutes or until you see some of them brown around the edges. If you can't wait for them to thaw, that's fine! Toss like normal but let them stay in the oven for about 25 minutes.

Tada! Easy as 1-2-3!

Bon appetit!

Raw Rock

Last night my brother Spencer and I decided to venture to Madison to see Showbread play! It was a blast. We were able to stay after the show and meet all of the band members which was nothing short of amazing.

They were all some of the nicest people that I have ever met. Spencer and I probably talk and hung out with all of them for at least two hours after the show had ended. It was amazing! Their tour that they are doing right now is completely free so check out their dates and see if they are coming near you! You won't regret going, promise.

And don't forget to bring your flashlights!

Along with meeting the band, I also met the lovely Vanessa of The Velvet Bird! We talked about blogs and things forever and she is just so precious! So go take a peek at her blog and etsy account and say hi!

As my shirt says, Showbread has RUINED my life. But in the best possible way. Check them out for yourself!
